Four temples, eleven nights, and one of the oldest pilgrim routes in the Himalaya. The Char Dham Yatra takes you to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath in the order the shastras lay down, west to east. This package covers all four properly instead of rushing you through them.
This one runs door to door from Jaipur. We pick you up at your home or hotel, drive you up to Haridwar on the first day, do the full yatra. Bring you back to Jaipur at the end. No arranging your own train to Haridwar, no meeting a stranger at a bus stand at five in the morning. The same vehicle and the same driver with you for the whole twelve days. Most of the families who travel with us are bringing parents or in-laws along, so the pace is built around that: early starts, unhurried darshan. A proper bed at the end of every day than a night in the car.
What the route looks like
Day one is the long run from Jaipur up to Haridwar, roughly 510 km, and you finish it with the Ganga aarti at Har Ki Pauri. From there you climb to Barkot for Yamunotri, cross over to Uttarkashi for Gangotri, take the long mountain road to Guptkashi for Kedarnath. Finish at Badrinath before coming back down through Rudraprayag and Devprayag to Haridwar, and then home to Jaipur. All in, about 2,600 km. It's also why we don't sell this as a six-day trip. Those packages exist, and they leave you roughly forty minutes at each temple.
The two treks
Yamunotri is a 6 km walk each way from Janki Chatti. Kedarnath is 16 km each way from Gaurikund and climbs close to 1,500 metres on the way up. Both are manageable for anyone in reasonable health, and ponies, palkis and porters are available at both if you'd not walk. For Kedarnath we can also put you on a helicopter from Phata or Sersi. Ask for it when you book, not later, since those seats go weeks in advance during season.
